What size BMX bike do you need? BMX bikes are sized in two ways: first by wheel size, which is typically 20″, and second by frame size, which is determined by the rider’s height.

BMX Bike Sizing
Standard BMX bikes have 20″ wheels, and the ideal frame size is determined by the rider’s height. Please refer to the size chart below.

Big BMX Bike Sizing
Although not usually considered traditional BMX bikes, there are BMX-inspired models with larger wheel sizes, sometimes called Big BMX bikes. These are often ridden in a more casual way or by riders who can’t find a comfortable fit on a traditional BMX bike. Sizes for these larger bikes are typically limited, and the main consideration is whether the rider is tall enough to stand comfortably over the frame.

Tips
If the rider is still growing, you may want to consider sizing up slightly. The exact fit and feel of a BMX bike can always be fine-tuned by adjusting components such as the frame, fork, handlebars, cranks, or stem. Some experienced riders may also choose a longer or shorter frame based on personal preference and riding style. Please note that this guide is not intended for BMX racing or flatland bikes.
